Dave Grimstead
MSc Cert Ed FRSA
Dave has had a distinguished career in law enforcement. With extensive experience in tackling international and serious organised crime, he previously served with the UK National Crime Squad (now NCA), leading successful investigations against drug and human trafficking. As a national surveillance trainer, he collaborated on joint operations with customs and security services, and pioneered new intelligence methods to identify immediate risks from dangerous offenders.
Passionate about community engagement in preventing violence and exploitation, Dave pursued an MSc in International Criminal Justice at Portsmouth University. Co-founding Locate Missing People CIC, he applies global approaches to real-world challenges, helping families in missing person investigations. As a Senior Investigating Officer, Dave managed high-risk missing person cases, conducted reviews, and contributed to improving missing person investigations in the South West.
Dave's commitment extends to his roles as Director and Trustee of UK charities, focusing on modern slavery and sexual exploitation. Appointed as a Churchill Fellow, he will explore missing person investigations in the U.S.A. and Canada firsthand.
Dave's vision for Quest revolves around five crucial objectives: preventing similar occurrences, enhancing investigation management, ensuring exhaustive efforts, understanding the events surrounding disappearances, and ultimately locating missing individuals
