On 17 April 1990, partial skeletal remains were found in heavy woodland at Deepdene after gales brought down a number of trees.
About this case
The unidentified person is believed to be a man aged 55-70, with a height between 5 Ft 4 Ins and 5 Ft 7 Ins and a medium build, who died sometime between 1975 and 1985. His ethnicity, hair colour and eye colour are unknown. His possessions were: a yellow metal case with stainless steel back, tobacco tin containing tobacco & matches, brown leather fold over wallet, 2 keys on a split ring fob and circular double diamond emblem, and 53 pence in coins some dated to 1967 & 1975. His clothing was: a single-breasted brown jacket with double vents at the rear, a beige v neck jumper, red/green/yellow and blk herringbone slacks with “n hamilton lytt 25.3.75″ written in pocket, and brown lace-up shoes in size 8. He also wore a watch with a 1.5” white face including hour marks only.
