18 years ago, on 29th May 2006, a woman was found sitting on a wall outside St. Helier Hospital in Sutton, South London. She was complaining of severe abdominal pain.

On what would be her 67th birthday, we are appealing to the public for help to reunite her with her name.

What we know:

  • She was middle-aged, likely in her late forties, about 5’9” (177 cm) with a heavy build

  • She was of Afro-Caribbean descent

  • It is believed she may be Ghanaian, and detectives later confirming she had indeed flown in from Ghana, however her home country is still unconfirmed

  • She gave hospital staff the name ‘Mary Kofi’ and stated her date of birth as 27 April 1957, however, it’s unclear if this information is accurate

  • She had a scarf and a handkerchief with an ‘Argent Swallow’ logo, bird imagery, and characters that may be of a Chinese origin
