Fundraising For The 13,000

Our "For The 13,000" Challenge is an inclusive and accessible campaign where participants pledge to complete various activities, aiming to reach a combined target of 13,000. The activities range from physical exercises like walking and running to creative endeavours like baking or crafting. The Challenge ran in the summer of 2024, and we reached 50% of our fundraising target.

Why 13,000?

We are driven by our mission to bring hope and resolution to the families of the 13,000 unidentified and missing people across the UK. Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new fundraising campaign: the "For The 13,000" Challenge.

Our founder, Dave Grimstead, has committed to cycling 1,000 miles on his spin bike throughout August. Inspired by his dedication, many others have joined the cause with their unique challenges.

2024’s Challenge raised £5,293

At Locate International, our mission had been to bring hope and resolution to families of the missing and unidentified. Approximately 13,000 people in the UK were missing or unidentified, and our dedicated team worked tirelessly to solve these cases and provide answers to those affected.

Our fundraiser, 'For The 13,000,' was a campaign aimed at raising awareness and funds to support our work. We called on our community to pledge activities—whether it was running, walking, baking, or any other creative endeavor—to collectively reach a target of 13,000 units. This number symbolised the 13,000 individuals who were missing or unidentified in the UK.

Our volunteers, already so generous with their time, also chose to participate in activities throughout August to raise much-needed funds for our cause. They asked friends, family, and the general public to sponsor their efforts. Every penny counted and went directly toward advancing our mission.

This group challenge encapsulated our ethos: even the smallest effort, when combined with the efforts of others, could lead to something extraordinary. As a charity run solely by volunteers, we demonstrated that a little could become a lot. Together, we made a significant impact.

If you are able to help us get closer to our goal of £13,000, please donate below.
