Ambleteuse Man
Found On: 9th September 1984
On Sunday 9th September 1984, the body of a man in his 30s was found on the beach at Ambleteuse, a village six miles north-east of Boulogne. Police estimate his body had been in the water for approximately three months. The man had drowned.
What we know
The man was wearing blue swimming trunks with 3 white stripes on the sides, from the brand ‘Rodeo’. He also wore salmon coloured underpants.
The man had blue eyes and dark blond hair. He was 1.77m tall.
Forensic oceanography indicated that it is likely he entered the water south of Ambleteuse as the currents run north.
