Mark Greenhalgh

Mark is an accomplished Senior Police Officer with over 24 years of dedicated service. His career has spanned every rank from Constable to Chief Superintendent, providing him with a wealth of operational, command, and strategic experience. His expertise shines particularly in high-risk police operations, including Firearms Command, Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, and Radioactive (CBRN) Command, and Hostage & Crisis Negotiation. Additionally, Mark has a strong background in Public Protection & Vulnerability, specifically in cases related to Domestic Abuse, Child Abuse, and Missing Persons.

As a seasoned leader, Mark has successfully managed missing person teams at both tactical and strategic levels. His tenure as a Senior Investigating Officer for numerous missing person investigations has given him a deep understanding of the complexities and opportunities inherent in such cases.

Mark’s passion lies in advancing the field of Missing Persons. He holds an MSc in Criminal Psychology, with a specific focus on missing persons. Currently, he is engaged in academic research centered on effective investigative interventions for missing persons and ‘cold cases.’

In his current role within Policing, Mark serves as the Head of Business Change for the NPCC Digital Forensics Programme. His commitment to driving change and fostering innovation underscores his dedication to the field of policing.
