Investigative Impact in 2025: Turning Information into Answers

At Locate International, every case represents a person who is loved, missed, and deserving of answers. In 2025 alone, our investigative team continued to make significant progress across both missing person and unidentified decedent cases.

201+ Cases Reviewed

In total, we reviewed more than 201 cases spanning long-standing cold cases and more recent disappearances. Each review involves detailed research, cross-referencing data, analysing timelines, and working collaboratively with partners to identify potential leads. It was a very busy year!

Our commitment is simple: no case is ever “too old” to revisit.

12 Possible Matches Submitted

One of the most critical aspects of our work is identifying potential matches between missing individuals and unidentified persons. In 2025, we submitted 12 possible matches relating to unidentified people.

Every submission represents careful comparison and investigative scrutiny. While not all matches result in identification, each submission is a meaningful step toward resolution and closure for families waiting for answers.

55 Cases Assigned to Investigation Teams

In 2025, 55 cases were actively assigned to our investigation teams. Once assigned, cases undergo structured review processes, evidence evaluation, and, where appropriate, engagement with relevant authorities.

Behind every assignment is a team committed to persistence, professionalism, and compassion.

14 Cases Ready for Assignment

In addition, 14 further cases were fully prepared ready for assignment. Preparation involves gathering documentation, consolidating research, and ensuring investigators have the information needed to move forward efficiently.

Continuing the Work

Beyond newly assigned cases, we continued active review on over 200 cases throughout the year. These included both historical cold cases and more recent disappearances where new information may yet emerge.

Investigative work is rarely linear. Progress can be slow, but persistence matters. Every review, every comparison, and every submission increases the possibility of identification, reunion, or long-awaited closure.

As we are now well into a new year, we remain just as committed to supporting families, assisting law enforcement partners, and ensuring that no one is forgotten as we did in 2025 and the years before that.
