Locate International signs landmark deal with police forces

Locate International are proud to announce a landmark step forward in how we work with police forces across England and Wales.

The agreement means all forces can now share missing and unidentified person cases directly with Locate International and our teams of volunteers, who will then investigate them.

The data processing agreement was signed by Assistant Chief Constable Damien Miller, national policing lead for missing people.

This deal recognises our ability to supplement policing with independent investigations, specialist expertise, and our extensive volunteer and media networks. In 2024, our 208 trained volunteers reviewed 264 cases, resolved 30 missing persons cases, and identified three previously unidentified individuals.

ACC Damien Miller said: “Police forces investigate hundreds of missing persons reports every day, working around the clock to protect people from harm.  We are pleased to have the specialist support of Locate International to bolster our ability to investigate and resolve reports of missing people and give families the support they need when a loved one is missing.”

Mark Greenhalgh, CEO of Locate International, said: “This is a great step forward in enabling Locate International to use its expertise and vast networks to support policing across England and Wales. Our mission is to provide time, resources and specialist access where cases may have stalled, always working alongside police and never instead of them.”

Other police forces wishing to refer a case to us can now do so via investigations@locate.international

Together, we will make sure that no case is left without answers.
